Cardinia Community Food Hub Launch

We had over 40 passionate people join us today on Zoom for our launch party. We were also joined by Mayor Brett Owen of Cardinia Shire Council.

Nick from Sustain: The Australian Food Network provided us with important info on the Cardinia Shire Community Food Strategy. Our iconic duo Nichole and Liz spoke about our veggie box subscription program, seasonal produce and how Cardinia residents could get involved with us.

Seb gave us a tour of the veggie garden at the back of Toomah Community Centre where the Lime Box Café is located. We've planted about 200 seedlings of kale and spinach here! Wooohuuu! 🌱

We had Cher, Martin and Crystal from Hopeworks Community Solutions take us through the recipe cards that came with the free gift bags. Their passion was so palpable! 👏🏾

And most importantly, we had our lovely Cardinia community share their favourite recipes and seasonal veggies with us- shout out to David for his minestrone recipe with onion, celery, broccoli, fennel and Tuscan kale! 🍲🍲🍲

Thank you everyone who joined us this evening 💚
